M&M
Martin and Melanie. Two people, one vision.
Martin Haunhorst (born 1971) grew up with equestrian sport on the family farm at Erikasee. After training as a carpenter, he turned to horse sport as a profession in 1994 — a holder of the Golden Riding Badge ever since, with successes in the Nations Cup, at the German Federal Championship and at the World Championship for Young Horses. On 1 November 1999 he took over the family estate, laying the foundation for what is today Sportpferde M&M Haunhorst.
Melanie Haunhorst (born 1974) is a qualified banking specialist (Bankfachwirtin) — trained at and employed for 25 years with Deutsche Bank. On 13 November 1999, just under two weeks after the farm handover, the two married. Since 2017 she has worked full-time in the business and is responsible for its commercial management — and, as a successful show jumper competing up to advanced level (schwere Klasse), she is herself deeply rooted in the sport.
From two grew more
With their sons Max (2000) and Mick (2004), the shared project of Martin and Melanie grew into a family business. Today Max and Mick, along with Beeke Carstensen, who has been part of the team since 2019, ride and work together on the farm — four holders of the Golden Riding Badge under one roof, united by the same ambition: horse sport with substance, care and respect for every horse.
